Opening Xport Wizard output files (XML, Excel/CSV, HTML)

The process for opening output files is the same for 2008 and 4.5.

Overview
Once your dashboard triggers an Xport Wizard Service to generate an output file (XML, Excel/CSV, HTML) your end user may want to open that output file. Xport Wizard returns the URL for the output file, which can be executed using a URL button.

Directions

1. Insert a URL Button component from Web Cconnectivity folder.
   
2. Navigate to the URL Button component’s properties sheet
3. Bind the URL component to the same cell used by the XML data button “Load” variable.

With the URL button, you have two options for triggering the URL.

On User Click:
Name the URL button to inform the end user that clicking the button will open the output file

On web service execution
-In the URL Button’s properties sheet, navigate to the Behavior tab
-Bind the trigger cell to the same cell as the XML data button “Load” variable and Step 3.
